Academy of Model Aeronautics National Championships
The Academy of Model Aeronautics National Championships is this July 2026 in Pontiac, Michigan. Co-sponsor for the event is the Science Olympiad flying events national sponsor and funder of the scholarships, the National Free Flight Society (NFFS).
This championship is only infrequently in Michigan, so this likely is a once ever opportunity for the Science Olympiad students interested in Aerospace. Brian Turnbull, a member of the Science Olympiad Tech Committee responsible for SO national rules development, will be one of the hosts at the AMA Nationals to welcome and help any SO students that attend, and hopefully compete.
