Gold Bids

Michigan Science Olympiad recognizes outstanding performances at Regional tournaments by competitors not on a state-qualifying team with the Gold Bid program.

• Individuals who are part of a primary team and receive 1st place in an event at their regional competition are invited to participate in the event at the state tournament. They may earn a medal at the level of their performance compared to the full competing teams. Gold bids will not affect the overall team rankings.

• An invitation should be delivered to each gold bid winner or coach from the Regional tournament.

• Qualifying individuals must contact the state tournament director at least 3 weeks before the state tournament to apply.
