Calling all coders! Source Code rules for 2018 have been posted on our Event Information page. IMPORTANT: For the 2018 Michigan State Science Olympiad Tournament, Source Code will be held as a SCORED event for Division C. This means it will count towards team’s overall rankings. Source Code will take the place of Game On, which will be held as an exhibition event and not count towards team’s overall rankings. Source Code will be held as a trial event for division B teams at the State Tournament.
The information above is specific only to the Michigan State Tournament. Source Code will be held as a trial event at various Invitationals and Regionals. Please contact your regional director to learn if Source Code will be run as a trial event in your area.
Over the past two years, Source Code has received much praise by students and supervisors. The event gives students an opportunity to write real code in a competitive environment. Source Code challenges students to derive algorithms that return exact, measurable answers to real life problems. This makes the event a perfect fit for Science Olympiad. If you are interested in the growing field of computer science, this is a great place to begin. Get started with our resources here:
